The folk art center hosts an acclaimed collection of American folk art ranging from the Colonial era to the present.

The center's collection of 16 paintings by 19th-century Quaker artist Edward Hicks ranks as the largest single holding of his work.
Photo: Attributed to furniture decorator Johannes Spitler, this richly painted Shenandoah Valley Chest, made sometime between 1800 and 1807, has become one of the most celebrated examples of German-American decorative art.
