Twin Cities Mixology: Brian Zachau at T.G.I.F.

Metromix is in the business of recommendations, so it only makes sense that we would go straight to the source to find the best in Twin Cities libations.

We're going to be asking local bartenders around the Metro what they like to drink at the place they pour, and where they go to kick back after hours.

Brian Zachau at T.G.I. Friday's in Maple Grove:

MMX: What's your recommendation at T.G.I.F. in "The Grove"?

I like the Long Island Iced Tea. T.G.I. Friday's has a great recipe. The difference is that we've got the best Sweet and Sour mix I've ever tasted.

Basically I like any drinks that have a lot of bottles to play with (Zachau is a four time winner of "The Greatest T.G.I. Friday's Bartender in the United States" competition.)

MMX: Where do you go on your off time?

Well now that I'm working in Maple Grove (Zachau has opened five T.G.I.F. stores in Minnesota) I hang out at Dave and Busters. But closer to home (in South Minneapolis) I'll go to the Imperial Room once in a while.

I like to drink anything with fresh citrus fruit in the summertime. Anything with fresh citrus and lime...
