Holding down the Fort
Northern Colorado brews it up
To say Colorado likes beer would be like saying the Rocky Mountains are decent sized hills—a colossal understatement. So when 31 of the area’s finest suds sellers rolled 400 kegs of quality beer into Fort Collins for the 19th Annual Colorado Brewers’ Festival this past June 28-29, Coloradans descended on the town as if chased by the Temperance Movement. The line to get in stretched around the corner and the beer tents were swarmed with zealous tipplers thirsting for whatever the 500 strong volunteer force was serving. The occasion benefits the Downtown Business Association and many of the events they put on throughout the year. Considering the fest was likely to see 30 to 40,000 people over two days, Fort Collins should be able to put on one hell of a 4th of July celebration.
