Why was 6 afraid of 7? Because 7 8 9! Ha. Ok, not so funny, but we couldn't resist. Today marks an event that only happens once a year -- the month, day and year align. Love birds avoided getting married on 6-6-6 (but the remake of "The Omen" made Hell, Michigan a hot spot destination) like the plague and pounced on 7-7-7 believing it would be a lucky day -- and for thousands of couples that night, it was ;).
We'll leave you to decide the significance of 8-8-8 (reportedly another big day for weddings, the start to the summer olympics in Beijing, etc), but we at Metromix believe any day's a great day to party.
