VIRGINIA BEACH -- Performers of all genres can audition for a paid spot in the Beach Street, USA program — an evening entertainment schedule that runs through the summer season at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront.

The auditions are scheduled for Feb. 29 and March 1, and music groups, variety acts and soloists are all encouraged to try out. Producers of the family-friendly entertainment schedule are especially interested in novelty and nonmusical acts.

Beach Street, USA begins in late May with weekend performances, shifts to nightly performances in mid-June and concludes just before Labor Day weekend. The entertainers will be asked to perform on one of the mini-stages set up along eight blocks of Atlantic Avenue.

Performers can call the Virginia Beach Neptune Festival at 498-0215 for more information and to schedule an audition.
