The Blue Star Diner has long been a Newport News landmark. It closed after a fire in late 2005, then reopened under new ownership in May 2007.
The interior is narrow and colored like the '50s. Intimate booth seats line the windows, while a long, curving counter straddles the busily sizzling grill. As with any good diner, a full breakfast is served all day.
The prices are low and the service is fast and friendly.
