The fine food and good wine at the Cities Grille in Williamsburg help turn any occasion into a special meal. Housed in a storefront at Governor’s Green Shopping center on Route 5, the restaurant offers seating at booths big enough for six to eat comfortably. The décor is refreshingly simple. Entrees of the day capitalize on seasonal favorites such as soft-shell crabs. Spring and summer fare is light, winter on the heavier side. Dinner entrees include beef tenderloin on toasted cornbread; double lamb chops basted with Dijon mustard; pecan-crusted catfish, deep fried; and grilled salmon filet. Our evening there rates a page in our memory book of great dinners.
