The revamped ’40s-vintage restaurant is one of the oldest continuously operating restaurants in Hampton Roads. Close to the water but viewless, it has a below-decks nautical air and a regional menu. Roving restaurateur Peter Pittman has installed Southern-flavored specialties in place of the traditional seafood of its past. Look for game stew, pumpkin bisque, salmon with fruit chutney, steak, duck and chicken. Now open at weekends only; private dining during the week.
