The Orchid Restaurant with a specialty in Thai food has counter service to accommodate both takeout orders and those dining in at the 50-seat facility. Thai and Chinese-style dishes make up the menu. Three lunchtime specials form weekly changing additions to the midday menu, which has a base price of $3.95. Typical specials at this price are soba noodles with cabbage, broccoli and bean sprouts flavored with ginger; stir-fried chicken with mixed vegetables; and beef Panang, a Thai dish with green beans and coconut sauce. All the specials include a spring roll and steamed rice. Additional choices revolve around chicken, pork and beef for the same price. At dinner, there's a more extensive selection of foods served in larger portions ($5.95-$7.95). For example, there are noodles with hot pepper and basil, a spicy beef salad, a traditional papaya salad and chicken with garlic and black pepper.
