Mo’ money, mo’ problems

For TV's poor little rich girls, having it all is never enough

Lauren Conrad (L.C. to all you diehards) lives in a swanky Hollywood Hills apartment, is barely ever in class (or even studying, for that matter), parties at all the hottest clubs in L.A. and can somehow afford to be an unpaid magazine intern year after year.

She lives the charmed life—on MTV’s dime since her breakout on “Laguna Beach”—but her drama-filled relationships still cause some major meltdowns. We need a play-by-play to figure out who her friends are and her taste in men is apocalyptically tragic, but that’s why we love to watch her. Admit it: It’s incredibly gratifying to see that lots and lots of money doesn’t necessarily buy happiness (though, as Lauren and Co. prove, it does make a great down payment).

L.C. and her cast of “frienemies” return for another season of “The Hills,” premiering Monday, August 13th at 10 p.m./9c on MTV.
