Trendiest Places to Eat in the Lehigh Valley

Let's face it, Lehigh Valley doesn't have a reputation of being "trendy." But things are changing for the better! Mostly places I've been, and a few I think are good enough to give a try in the future...

Edge Restaurant -

74 W. Broad St. - Bethlehem

The food should be better given the prices, but they've gotta pay for all the square plates and subtle lighting somehow.

Blue Grillhouse & Wine Bar -

4431 Easton Ave. - Bethlehem

Pretty much the best place to eat in the Valley. Unlike Edge, the food is actually worth the price, and the ambiance is spectacular. All of the side dishes are fantastic, and the steaks are perhaps the best I've had in the Valley*. The only way this could be better was if they had Animal Collective karaoke on Friday nights. *I have not been to Shula's yet...

Starfish Brasserie -

51 W. Broad St. - Bethlehem

Although the dining area isn't quite as stylish as I'd like (and let's not get into how it looks from the outside), the bar area is fantastic and they do have square plates (+50dkps at least). The presentation is the kicker though. Oh, and the food's excellent, too.

235 Ferry Street - Easton

One of the places I've not been to, but let's list why I want to go here: -It's got a one-word name -The picture shows puffy square chairs that look nice but are probably uncomfortable -Non-trendy people call it "too loud" -It's in a part of town my parents told me to avoid when I was younger -It's got tapas, but they're 'pan asian.' Crossing two cultures: +100 -They DO have Animal Collective Karaoke on Friday nights.

It's got the non-Spanish tapas going for it, decor with colors that POP, and fantastic presentation. No square plates detracts points, but it's a nice place to go for a trendy lunch.
