Costing $55 million and covering 300,000 square feet, the new Ferguson Center for the Arts represents a major commitment by Christopher Newport University to arts education and the cultural life of the community. The complex was designed by the New York firm of Pei Cobb Freed & Partners, whose other designs include the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum and the east wing of the National Gallery of Arts in Washington.
